YUMA, ARIZONA- Inspiring and encouraging team members to pursue lifelong learning and furthering education is part of the corporate culture at JV Smith Companies, based in Yuma, Arizona. This might also be a common mission of many of the most influential leaders in today’s corporate world, but at JV Smith, a family owned business, they back it up with impressive numbers.

The Smith Family Foundation shares the importance of education with their members on a regular basis. Each year they offer financial support through scholarships to their team members as well as their dependents.  Their companies, which include JV Farms, Southern Colorado Farms, Skyline Potato, JV Farms Organic, Triangle Farms, Skyview Cooling and Fresh Innovations, have 500 employees in Arizona, California and Colorado.  

Over the past five years, CEO Vic Smith and his leadership team have provided over $600,000 in scholarships. Mr. Smith shared, “It’s actually an honor for us to be able to support those who give so much to fulfill the dreams we have for our companies. Each of our team members is critical to the success of our company. Some of my favorite success stories of our team relates to the staff sharing their pride in their personal education. We are all a part of something much bigger than ourselves. By investing in people’s education and future, our future becomes that might brighter.”
