JV Farms was founded in 1988 by John B. Smith and Vic Smith, two visionary entrepreneurs who sought to diversify their business interests and tap into the rich agricultural potential of Yuma, Arizona. Recognizing the area's ideal growing conditions and its reputation as a vibrant hub for agriculture, John and Vic decided to start farming in 1991 with an initial 2,400 acres of farmland. Their goal was to grow high-quality crops and contribute to the growth and prosperity of the Yuma agricultural community. Over the years, JV Farms has expanded its operations significantly, becoming a cornerstone of the region's agricultural landscape. In 2004, Chad VanMatre joined the team and brought his extensive expertise to the operation, ultimately stepping into the role of General Manager in 2019. Under Chad’s leadership, JV Farms has continued to innovate, grow, and strengthen its commitment to sustainability, quality, and community engagement.
